Light in Residential Spaces
A house is the hardest brief in lighting, because it has to work at every hour and for every mood.
Commercial spaces are lit for a task. A home is lit for a morning, an evening, a dinner, a quiet hour alone – and the same fitting has to serve all of them without ever announcing itself. That argues for fewer pieces doing more, and against the scattered downlights that have become a default.
The rooms that succeed usually have one considered source and a great deal of restraint everywhere else.
